Mingus...

:'(

Yup... we sure are gonna miss that guy. BUT... the good news is that Moses

is gonna take care of him (... don't worry he's not as crazy as he looks).

AND... he has a yard!
AND a doggie door.

I bet Mingus is sad that we're leaving, but excited that he can go pee and chase skunks (and bite them in the butt) whenever he wants.

So here's a small tribute to mingie while we're gone... being used as a pillow

...in his element... a blizzard

...look at that smile... in alameda

Sniffing Bear Carcasses on the Lost Coast

Partyin' in GG Park.

not being able to get up cuz of his heavy panniers.

Needing some assistance to get out of the bc.

And a note of how to take care of the easiest dog to take care of...
  • FOOD - feed him once in the morn, once at night... give him a few cupss... he usually leaves food that he doesn't want... (but recently the vet called him fat... so don't feed him too much).
  • POO - he usually goes like 1x every 2 or 3 days...
  • SLEEP - he usually sleeps on the floor (not on his doggie bed) so don't worry about that...
  • COLD - he doesn't...
  • WARM - he get's hot... provide lots of water...
  • DOG PARK - he's a butt nipper... so he may tick some doggies off... so you gotta tell him to calm down sometimes...
  • FEET - his feet get cut up on occasion... especially in the Desolation Wilderness... put doggie booties on... and these fall off a lot... and are expensive, so keep an eye on em... usually his front feet are the ones at risk.
  • TICKS - he gets lots. Be sure to check for them. And apply advantage every month.
  • HEEL - he can heel... follow the Dikeman method...
  • SIT, STAY, DOWN, HUG, and ROLL OVER... he knows... but you gotta make him do it.
OK. Now you know if you end up taking care of Mingus for Moses next year...

On our next tour... we'll plan to take him with us...
