Tandem cycling in Australia, Backpacking in Tasmania and New Zealand, Kayaking in the Whitsundays, Eating Sushi (and going to Onsens) in Japan, Weddings back in Cali, Hiking in Nepal, Rock Climbing in Thailand, Scootering around Lao!!!
First... sorry for the delay... but I lost some pics... and it's hectic being back in the US of A... so I didn't have much time to do all these things I had planned... but alas...
We went to Korea via the ferry from Shimonoseki.
The 9 hour ferry ride was quite comfy in the economy class, as you share a tatami floored room with a bunch of strangers. Also on deck is an onsen, beer vending machines, and numerous Japanese and Koreans who want to drink and practice their English with you... this is what the room looks like in the morning...
then we went straight to the fish market...
she had enough cleaning...
and enjoyed our fist taste of Korean cuisine...
the next day went to the beach, where we noticed that koreans are just as sun-conscious as the Japanese... no one went in the water, everyone just sat around under a sunshade... right next to someone else.
I guess this beach set the world record for the number of sunshades recently...
At the hut in Jiri-San National Park.
where they separate the boys from the girls...
After staying a night in Mokpo, we took a plane over to Jeju-Do, the island southeast of the Korean penninsula, which may have been the highlight of my time in Korea. This is loosely analogous to the Hawaii of Korea. Waterfalls, awesome swimming holes, nice beaches, and the hosts we stayed with were super active and we went swimming numerous times, played ultimate frisbee, beach volleyball, and went on bike rides. It was awesome.
