Bike Around Bay

I've been thinking about this for a while now...

There are a few hills, but it's mostly flat. SF and Marin are flat. The E. bay will have some challenging hills, and so will the peninsula. I did the Northern Section about a year ago... and man was I tired... So... doing this in a day will take a little training I suppose... or a higher pain tolerance... Anyone wanna do it with me? It may take 2 days...

Let's assume 15 mph... riding with a 30 min break every 3 hours... Would be about 10 hours 40 min of riding... with 3 breaks totaling 90 min. So it'd take at least 13 hours. Probably more like 15 or 16.

Currently there is 12 hours of day light... hmm...

Mendocino Bike Tour...

Mendo is great. It's a bit far. Not so many folks. The roads are really curvy. But still great.

Why? Here's a few reasons...

Beer... & wine...

BEACHES...

TWEEKERS!!

And fellow bike tourers...

There were also black berries, apples, crazy old men, and scrabble.

Here's a link to the full pics.

Parallelogram...

That's gotta be the most difficult word to pronounce by Japanese folks learning English.

Mammoth Lakes, CA

...is awesome.

Not only do you have the resort to go skiing you have amazing backcountry skiing access... possibly one of the best in the country.

Also, you have year round climbing, bouldering,
amazing hiking access, 13 of the 14 14,000 ft peaks to climb near by, premier fishing, canoeing, cliff jumping,

rope swing at Gull Lake, mountain biking galore,
demolition derby,

BBQ pork, trail running, road biking, Yosemite near by,

hot springs... just to rattle off a few reasons.

Anyway, we got a nice sneak peak into what it would be like to live in such a place as Dave and Danielle introduced us to their friends Jeff and Sarah, who currently live in Mammoth, and as far as we could tell, loving it.

Here are some more pics from this weekend.
